FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Drivers will begin seeing new toll pricing signs this weekend as part of the ongoing activities in the second phase of I-95 Express tolling.
New pricing signs located along northbound I-95 lanes, just north of the Golden Glades Interchange in Miami-Dade County, will start posting "$0.00" from Ives Dairy Road to I-595, signaling the next stage of toll testing for this corridor.
SunPass® is urging drivers to note the following:
• SunPass® customers will begin to see a "$0.00" charge for this area on their statements. Please note that during this testing period, funds will not be deducted from your SunPass® account.
• Tolls on 95 Express are collected electronically so toll-paying users of the express lanes must have a SunPass® account and affix their SunPass® transponder to their windshield.
• Drivers entering the express lanes should monitor the electronic pricing signs that notify what the toll is to upcoming exits.
The work is being done as part of a construction project extending the existing express lanes north into southern Broward County.
The work, which began in 2011, is expected to be completed this spring with an estimated cost of $120 million.
