Thieves Rob Pompano Beach Market, Leave Victims In Underwear

POMPANO BEACH (CBSMiami) – Robbers not only cleaned out the cash drawers at a Pompano Beach market, but they left the victims in their drawers.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said at 9:35 p.m. on November 9th, two armed robbers entered the Rite Way Food Market at 13 SE 11th Ave.

One robber jumped the counter and forced the clerk to the ground while holding the gun to his back, deputies said.

Authorities said the other thief locked the front door and then had a customer lie face-down on the floor, before dragging him toward the back of the store.

Deputies said after the robbers cleaned out the register, they ordered the clerk and shopper to remove their pants.

With money and pantaloons in hand, the two men fled.

Both thieves wore hooded sweatshirts, gloves and masks, making identification very difficult for authorities.

Detectives believe this two men might be responsible for similar crimes in Broward County.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for anonymous information that leads to an arrest.
