The Big Game Deserves The Best TV

When it comes down to the Super Bowl 50 we might not know who is going to play in the big game yet, but we do know how many fans are going to enjoy it. According to The Nielsen Company, more people watched the Patriots defeat the Seahawks than any other program in United States television history. In all, 114.4 million people tuned in for Super Bowl XLIX. Fans spent time buying refreshments, gathering their friends and family, and setting up for an amazing football viewing experience.

Whether you want to see your favorite team battle it out on Super Bowl Sunday or are just in it for the expensive entertaining commercials, one thing is for certain, the TV you watch it on is important. Although the technology hasn't quite sunk into the market, there are some beneficial aspects of a curved display. You tend to get more immersed into what you are watching when the display is curved. The reason for this is because the view wraps around you just like the world around you.  In a flat TV we tend to concentrate more on the center than the corners. The effective area we normally view is the center even if it is a 65" TV. A curved display allows the viewer to focus on the entire screen as all points in the TV are equal distance from the viewer. Having more sharpness at the edges of the image and having more depth with a physical foreground and background makes curved TVs a great choice for the big game.

What is 4K resolution? 4K resolution is a video size, which are 4096 pixels wide and 2196 pixels high. This is different from the previous video size definitions for example 1080p, 720p) which referred to the height in pixels so 1080p format, is 1920 pixels wide. The main difference in 4K TVs, and 4K movies, is that the high resolution/details, together with the specialized devices (TV sets) are designed for sitting within 6 feet (2m) which makes the viewing experience much more immersive, by covering almost all of the viewer's viewing angles.

Is 4K worth the cost? The prices of 4K TVs have been steadily dropping over the course of the last few years, making this one of the best years to buy because price tags have dipped below $1000. Cable companies, Netflix, and Amazon Prime are all promising larger and larger catalogs of 4K streaming content as well as live broadcasts in 4K. 4K Blu-ray players have entered the fray and provide an extremely enjoyable movie watching experience at the highest resolution possible. There has never been a better time to buy.

With a Curved 4K resolution UHD TV you will really feel like you're there, and that's the purpose. CBS Sports is debuting new gadgetry at Super Bowl 50 including a replay system which will give viewers a 360-degree perspective and higher resolution than previously ever seen for the game. Thirty-six cameras strung around the upper deck of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, can freeze the moment and revolve around the play before continuing to show the scene. Viewers on Feb. 7 will be able to check out the quarterback's view from the pocket to other players' perspectives on the field, and it can be animated, too. There's still time to grab an HDTV for the big game.
