DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – The teenager pulled from a swimming pool over the weekend in Deerfield Beach just got to meet the little boy who saved her life.

"Oh my God, can I pick you up?"

It was hugs all around as the family of Usely Michel met Angel Rivera – the young boy who saved her when she nearly drowned in a community pool.

"Thank you so much. I still can't believe," Usely's father told Angel.

Angel saved Usely on Sunday at the Highlands mobile home park's pool in Deerfield Beach.

"She was down on the bottom, I picked her up and took her out and then I had to save her life because the people were screaming," Angel said the day of the incident.

The community pool was closed, the gate was locked and no one was supposed to be in the pool or on the pool deck. But neighbors said the club house door to the pool area was open and more than a dozen children and adults were in and around the pool.

Angel jumped in and pulled the girl to the surface.

Usely and her family are beyond grateful.

"I finally see him, I'm so happy. So really, really happy," Usely said.

Angel is happy he could help and plans to continue with good deeds.

"This is not going to be the first time I save somebody's life.  I could save somebody's life the next day, you don't know. It's just like a surprise.  One day this happens, the next day you save somebody's life. It's just life," he said.
