Teacher Sentenced To 20 Years For Relationship With Student

DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) -- A Deerfield Beach science teacher will spend the next 20 years in federal prison for having a sexual relationship with a 9th grade student.
Zion Lutheran Christian School teacher Eric Beasley, 24, admitted he had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 14-year old girl who was one of his students.
Authorities arrested him in April 2014 after they said he was found partially naked in the backseat of a car with the student.
He said it was more than just sex . He was in love with her.
On Thursday, he told a judge he was sorry.
Beasley entered a plea in exchange for 20 years. Part of that plea includes another 20 year sentence from a state judge.
After his release he will be on probation for the rest of his life and will be labeled a sex offender.
