TD # 9 Downgraded To Remnant Low After Moving Inland

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Depression nine has moved inland and is now a remnant low.

At 11:00 p.m., post-tropical cyclone #9 was located about 75 miles south-southwest of Campeche, Mexico with maximum sustained winds at 30 miles per hour.

The tropical storm watch in Mexico from Celestun to Frontera has been discontinued.

The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the east-southeast at 6 miles per hour and this general motion is expected to continue over the next 48 hours.

The center of the cyclone will move along the southern portion of the Yucatan Peninsula during the next couple of days.

Weakening is forecast while the low moves over land during the next 48 hours.

The cyclone is expected to produce total rainfall of 5 to 10 inches across the Yucatan Peninsula, with some areas seeing as much as 15 inches.
