LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) -- A SWAT standoff is over hours after it started in North Lauderdale.
Wednesday morning, Chopper 4 was over a home as SWAT teams surrounded it around 9 a.m. off State Road 7 and Kimberly Boulevard.
There were at least two SWAT trucks parked in front of the home.
According to officials, it all started just before midnight when several men robbed a nearby farm store and at gunpoint demanded a 6-pack of beer and pack of cigars.
Two of them were found just a few blocks away at another farm store. From there, the men later barricaded themselves into homes in the area prompting SWAT team to be called out.
After one of the men was found, SWAT made their way to another home where they believed there was another one of the armed robbers inside the North Lauderdale home.
In that home, there were several people sleeping. They were removed. SWAT was outside of the home for several hours.
Around 11 a.m., authorities said they did not find any of the suspects inside the home. The scene was cleared sometime before noon.
The search for the suspect they did not find continues. The clerk from the farm store where the armed robbery took place was not injured.
