Tattoo shop worker in SW Miami-Dade says a client came back to rob him

MIAMI - Miami-Dade police said a tattoo shop worker was shot during a robbery in southwest Miami-Dade on Thursday evening.

Police said it happened in the back of a tattoo shop located in the 13400 block of Miller Drive at around 8 p.m., as two tattoo shop employees, in their 20s, stepped out behind the shop in an alley.

Two suspects pulled guns and demanded goods, police said. One victim tried to run away back through the shop and was shot before getting to the door.

Authorities said the wound was critical but not life-threatening, the other victim was robbed before the shooting.

The suspects got in a car in a parking lot.

There were witnesses and surveillance video to help police.

MDPD Public Information Officer Andre Martin said a bystander rushed the man who was shot to HCA Kendall Hospital.
