Suspect In Custody After Deadly Stabbing On Hollywood Beach

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – Authorities have arrested a man accused of stabbing another man to death on Hollywood Beach.
Officers responded to a report of the attack at a pavilion located at Charnow Park, shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9th.
Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen.
Witnesses told detectives that the stabbing occurred during an altercation between the suspect, Clarence Martin, and the victim.
The two men knew each other, police said.
Hollywood Fire Rescue transported the victim to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead on Sunday.
His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Witnesses also advised officers that Martin fled the scene on a bicycle on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk.
Shortly after, Hollywood Police Officers observed an individual matching Martin's description riding a bicycle and took him into custody.
A knife was found in Martin's possession and a witness identified him as the suspect who stabbed the victim.
Martin has been charged with one count of premeditated murder.
