MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Residents in Miami-Dade and Broward County voiced their opinion on a grand jury's decision not to indict an officer for shooting and killing Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.
Among them, the father of Travyon Martin, the 17-year old shot to death by a neighborhood vigilante, George Zimmerman, who a jury found not guilty in his death.
"It's a very tough time so you know me and my family we are trying to keep them uplifted in our prayers. In this day and age, we march so much and continue to march but the results are we are still getting shot down in the the streets,"said his father Tracy Martin.

That sentiment was echoed over and over with many condemning the rioting going on in Ferguson while saying they understand it and that the legal system is failing the black community.
"I understand, but we are destroying our own community," said Martin.

Meantime, callers lit up the phone lines at Hot 105.1, voicing their opinions on the matter.
"People are acting off of emotion. people are tired, tired of being killed and then there are no consequences for it," said a caller.
"I think we need to redo the process, the whole process of law," said another caller.
"I mean it would've helped the people of Ferguson to actually see this guy go through the process and fairly see what really happened, but it's like they said this is what happened. We don't care what you guys think or say this guy is free," said Hot 105.1 Radio Host Rick Party.
"While the kid may have done wrong, the punishment just didn't fit the crime," said another caller.
