Smith on Wade, Heat: 'It's Just Business'

As July 1 nears, the clock is ticking for Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat to come to an agreement on a deal after Wade is expected to opt out of his current contract.

But one NBA Insider wants us to remind the players this league is a business.

"This is never about the fans and the player no matter how much we try and make it about that," NBA.com's Sekou Smith said on the Big O Show. "It's just business man. And the sooner the players recognize that the better. Because the organizations are going to cut you loose when it's time no matter what ... the methods are always messy when you're in these situations ... So, the fans are always going to be forgiving. It's the organization and you and what kind of relationship you work out that tells the tale to me.

"The thing that I'm surprised about is that there's not more synergy between Dwyane Wade, his representation and the Heat right now."
