Ship Crashes Into Wall With Passengers On Board

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A cruise ship owned by a Miami-based company crashed into a wall with hundreds on board in New York.
Coast Guard crews said 274 people were on board the "Saint Lauren" when the ship slammed into the Eisenhower Lock in the Saint Lawrence Seaway in Massena, New York, Thursday just before 10 p.m.
The crash left 19 guests and three crew members with minor injuries, according to the company who owns the ship, Fleet Pro Passenger Ship Management.
Those injured were rushed to Massena Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Meantime, an investigation is underway into what caused the crash.
The company issued a statement on the matter saying in part, "The company will carry out a full investigation onto the events leading up to the allusion and cooperate fully with any official investigation."
As of Friday afternoon, the ship was still in the lock and was partially drained of water.
The ship was headed from Montreal to Toronto at the time of the crash.
