Serial Bank Robber Sentenced To 25 Years In Prison

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A 28-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for a series of bank robberies.
Jeffrey Ross, a former resident of Broward County, was sentenced to 199 months imprisonment, consecutive to a 101 month sentence Ross is currently serving in Michigan.
Ross, according to the United States Department of Justice, attempted to rob a bank in Tamarac. During the robbery, he showed his gun that was concealed in his waistband and demanded the bank teller give him money. The teller was slow to respond so Ross fled.
For months, from October 19, 2012 through February 28, 2013, Ross robbed five banks in Broward. During each robbery he displayed the firearm that was concealed in his waistband. In total, Ross stole $9,646.
Ross fled to Michigan where he committed another bank robbery. During that robbery Ross pointed a gun at employees and stole $4,350. He then told all employees to go into the bank vault before leaving.
After a foot pursuit, law enforcement arrested Ross who was in the bushes near the bank.
Ross plead guilty in Michigan and is being sentenced to 101 months, Ross was extradited to South Florida to face charges.
