Sen. Rick Scott Holds Discussion On Venezuela In Doral
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Senator Rick Scott held a discussion with the Venezuelan community and the wife of interim president Juan Guaidó's chief of staff.
The event was held Monday morning at the "Las Vegas Restaurant" on NW 53rd Street in Doral.
Scott was in town to show US support for Guaidó and what he is doing to help the South American country.
Meanwhile, Guaidó has called for more protests Monday after a weekend of dueling rallies in Caracas.
The US-recognized president of Venezuela and his supporters took to the streets to say that embattled 'usurper' Nicolas Maduro is already defeated.
He also said the country is in dire need of humanitarian aid.
Maduro supporters, most of whom were bused in, also staged a rally and said they were not ready to give up.
Local TV images showed seas of people in support of Guaidó, while the Maduro rally showed mostly members of the military, militias, and state employees.
