Miami Dolphins Hire New Trainer

MIAMI (AP) — Ryan Grove has been hired as the Miami Dolphins' head athletic trainer, a job that became vacant in the fallout from the team's bullying scandal.

Kevin O'Neill, who had been the Dolphins' trainer for 18 years, was fired five days after the release of an NFL report on the scandal following a three-month investigation.

O'Neill expressed hostility toward the investigation and cut short an interview with those conducting it, according to the report. An attorney for O'Neill said his client was improperly singled out to appease a public outcry for action.

Grove spent the past 18 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including the past 15 as their assistant athletic trainer. His hiring was announced Thursday.
