Rothstein Scheduled To Testify In Federal Court

WEST PALM BEACH (AP) — Convicted Ponzi scheme operator Scott Rothstein is scheduled to testify for a former law firm colleague also charged in the $1.2 billion fraud.

Attorney Christina Kitterman is scheduled to go on trial Monday in West Palm Beach federal court.

Prosecutors say she assisted in the Rothstein fraud by pretending to be a Florida Bar official in telephone conversations with investors.

Kitterman worked at now-defunct law firm Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler.

Along with Rothstein, former partner Stuart Rosenfeldt is also scheduled to testify in Kitterman's defense.

She has pleaded not guilty.

Rothstein is serving a 50-year prison sentence for his scam, which involved investments in phony legal settlements.

He has agreed with prosecutors to testify in various legal matters in hopes of getting his sentence reduced.
