Canceled Due To COVID Surge: Big Orange Will Not Ring In New Year In Downtown Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Big Orange, which has traditionally risen to ring in the new year, will not rise again this year due to the surge in COVID cases, including crew members preparing it for the event.

Festivities at Bayfront Park will continue as planned, organizers said.

This will mark the second consecutive year that the rise of the Big Orange is canceled due to the coronavirus.
