Richt On CFB Playoff: "I Think Eight [Teams] Will Be The Best Solution"
University of Miami head football coach, Mark Richt joined the Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM to discuss the Hurricanes upcoming matchup in the Russell Athletic Bowl against West Virginia. They also talk about recruiting trips, the Canes season in review and the NCAA's postseason program.
On Miami's bowl game- "The bowl game definitely does matter. People gauge you going into next season based on how you finished. I normally don't really like to talk about the future much before a game, but in every bowl you want to send off your seniors with a win and also have something to build on for all the younger guys that are staying in the program."
On the College Football Playoff- "There's always going to be someone mad with the playoff system. If you take 4 teams than, number 5 will be mad. If you take 8 teams, than number 9 will be mad. I do believe though that one day it will go to 8 teams, and I think 8 will be the best solution. If it were me, I'd say you take the power 5 champions and three at large, and let's go play ball."
