Reward Offered For Man Accused Of Taking Car With Baby

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Authorities are offering a reward for a man deputies say stole a car with a baby inside in Fort Lauderdale.

The baby and car were found hours later in Pompano Beach. The child was unhurt.

On Wednesday, authorities said anyone with information leading to the arrest of the wanted man would be eligible for an up to $3,000 reward.

Cameras captured images of him as she walked out of the Laundromax on February 8th, right before, deputies said he drove off in the victim's Chevy Cruze with her 10-month old baby.

The mother, Susely Lopez said she had left her daughter Yareli inside the running car because she was sleeping.

A short time later, the man walked to the car and the cameras captured the car leaving.

Officers said the suspected carjacker is around 20 years old and was last seen wearing a long sleeve jacket or shirt, blue jeans and Timberland boots.
