DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has put a lot of money into renovating the team's home stadium.

With finishing touches being applied to the stadium's new shade canopy and the playing field installed, it seems that only one main thing is missing.

A name.

Since the naming rights owned by Sun Life Financial expired earlier this year, the building has gone by the generic name "New Miami Stadium."

On Wednesday the Dolphins will host a press conference at 2 p.m. to announce what the stadium's new name will be and while the team declined comment, sources say to expect Hard Rock Stadium to be officially announced at tomorrow's press conference.

The Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida owns Hard Rock International and has one of the most popular casino's in the state, the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, which is located just 10 miles north of the stadium.

In addition to all Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes home games and the NCAA's annual Orange Bowl playoff game, Hard Rock Stadium will host Super Bowl 54 in the year 2020 after it was awarded to South Florida earlier this year.

Hard Rock Stadium becomes the latest name on a building that has had plenty of them since it opened in 1987. Here are the rest:

Joe Robbie Stadium (1987-1996)

Pro Player Park (1996)

Pro Player Stadium (1996-2005)

Dolphins Stadium (2005-2006)

Dolphin Stadium (2006-2009)

Lark Shark Stadium (2009-2010)

Sun Life Stadium (2010-2016)

The Dolphins will play their first game at the newly renovated stadium on September 1st when they wrap up their preseason schedule against the Tennessee Titans.

Two days later on September 3rd the Hurricanes will play their season opener against Florida A&M.

The Dolphins open the regular season with a pair of road games. Miami's regular season home opener against the Cleveland Browns takes place on September 25th at 1 p.m.
