Large Police Presence Prevents Demonstrators From Getting Onto The Palmetto In NW Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Demonstrators in support of Cuban protests on the island took to the streets Thursday night in Northwest Miami-Dade.

They gathered by the Palmetto Expressway and NW 77th Street and at one point, looked like they wanted to get onto the expressway.

A large police presence put an end to any plans they may have had to disrupt traffic.

Protests in support of the cause of freedom on the island continued for the fifth consecutive day on Thursday.
