Pompano Beach Man Accused Of Trying To Lure Girl Into Home

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A Broward County judge is calling a man "too dangerous to be on the streets," after he reportedly tried to lure a little girl into his home.

Judge John Hurley, on Tuesday, looked visibly disturbed while listening to the case against Lester Russell, Jr. Police were called to Russell's home in February, when his neighbor turned him in.

That neighbor told police Russell would come out of his home and watch her daughters play. The mother said he would rub his hands together and stare at his crotch. She told CBS4 she asked him to stop, but he threatened her, saying he he was crazy. The mother said she finally reported him to police when her three-year-old daughter said Russell tickled her chest.

In court, prosecutors told the judge Russell claimed the three-year-old girl was his wife, according the the gospel of Kappa. While being questioned about tickling the girl, investigators reported Russell was playing with his nipples. Investigators also found toys all over his house, although he has no children.

Although Russell is not being accused of actually molesting the girl, the judge said Russell is too dangerous to be on the streets

"The defendant has all the makings of a sex offender," said Judge John Hurley.

Russell was ordered to house arrest with GPS monitoring. He must also stay 500 feet away from the three-year-old girl. He currently lives about ten feet from here.

The girl's mother told CBS 4 that she's not sure what that means for her living situation, since she fears Russell might try to contact her daughter once he's released.

The mother says she was afraid to turn Russell in, but was able to muster the courage to it.

"A mother would do anything for her kids," said the woman who we are not identifying to protect her daughter's identity.

She urged other parents to speak out about child sex abuse issues to stop offenders from hurting other children.
