Missing Miami Gardens girl found safe

MIAMI - A missing Miami Gardens girl has been found.

Galiea Jones Duncanson, 11, went missing at around noon from her home in the 2400 block of NW 155th Street for hours, but was later found safe in Hollywood.

Her mom tells CBS News Miami's Anna McAllister she is grateful and relieved her daughter was found.

Galiea, who has autism, wanted to wear slippers to school and when her parents told her no, she left without their knowledge.

Her mom tells us that she got upset and then left the home leading police on an hour's long search to find her.

Police say a Good Samaritan spotted her Tuesday evening at a Walgreens at Young Circle.

Authorities believe Galiea hopped on a bus and ended up in Hollywood.

"Someone who had seen the Amber Alert called it, they actually stopped her and asked if it was her and she said, yes." said Dwight Duncanson, the girl's dad.

After reuniting with her child, her mom said, "I'm relieved. I'm happy. I'm happy that she found out because she's gonna be able to come home and have a meal and sleep in a warm bed."

The family tells us they are happy that she is OK and everyone is in good spirits.
