Police Search For Driver Of Fatal Hit & Run In N. Miami Beach

NORTH MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Police are looking for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in North Miami Beach.
It happened early Sunday morning near N.E. 19th Avenue and 177th Street.
North Miami Beach Police said the victim may have been walking across the street when he was struck by a car traveling in the northbound lanes.
"I'm very shocked and it surprised me what had happened. And it's something that I never expected," said Oscar Mejia, who lives near where the crash occurred.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
