MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Homicide detectives are here piecing together a hit and run in a quiet Northwest Miami-Dade neighborhood.
The hit-and-run victim lives on NW 49 Avenue and 178th Terrace, just a few houses down from the accident.
The man's friend and roommate told CBS4's Donna Rapado he was walking back from the store when suddenly emergency sirens were blaring.
It turns out a car had slammed into his buddy.
Fire rescue rushed the victim to Ryder Trauma Center where Miami-Dade Police said he is stable.
The man was reportedly dragged for some time before the car drove off.
Authorities have very little information to go on at this time. They urge anyone with info to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
