Police: Man, woman found dead in Hialeah apartment, child found uninjured

Family in mourning after mother and father found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Hialeah

MIAMI - Hialeah police said a 3-year-old boy is without a mother and father after an apparent murder-suicide.

Police said it appeared a domestic dispute escalated at an apartment building in the 600 block of West 68th Street.

Arriving officers found the bodies of Clifford Renard Murray III, 28, and Rosemary Gutierrez, 27, along with their son. Police said they were boyfriend and girlfriend living together with a 3-year-old son in common.

A woman who lives at the complex said many of her neighbors heard gunshots from Friday night into Saturday morning but didn't know where it was coming from. The family said the toddler may have been inside the apartment with the bodies since the weekend.

Police said the sister of the dead woman could not get a hold of her after a few days and called police to do a welfare check.

"When I got home from work I saw that the sister was knocking on the door and no one opened it. Then she heard the child inside. The kid moved the blinds over a bit and then she called the police," said a woman who lives nearby.

The boy was taken to a local hospital as a precaution. He was then turned over to the Department of Children and Families.

Police would not say if police had been called to the address in the past.
