Police: Man Shot, Killed In Miami Beach Apartment Building

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Miami Beach Police are trying to find out who shot and killed a man in an apartment building early Monday morning.

It happened in a building called Yesora, located at 8th Street and Jefferson Avenue around 1:00 a.m., according to police.

The entrance of the building was roped off with crime scene tape for nearly 10 hours as investigators collected evidence.

"There's always, always arguing; specific people, and like I said the police are always there," said Jennifer Pinetra, who lives across from the building where the man was shot.  She told CBS4 she often sees police cars outside.

"The police are always there, maybe four days out of 7 days a week," said Pinetra. "I hear stuff all the time coming from that building so I no longer pay attention," she added.

Police say the victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital by Miami Beach Fire Rescue, and he later died at the hospital.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
