Police: Man Caught On Camera Stealing Assault Rifles From Car Arrested

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami police have arrested a man they said broke into a parked car and stole two assault rifles.

Robert Patterson is facing several felony charges, including grand theft of the third degree.

The theft happened Sunday, June 12, at a condo building on 1050 Brickell Avenue.

Police say Patterson made his way into the parking garage through a stairwell.

Surveillance cameras captured the thief open the door of a 2016 Black Mercedes Benz E 400.

The suspect then put the weapons in a blue Adidas book bag and took off.

Officers say the guns had been stored in the car legally.

However, authorities did not say if the assault rifles were recovered.
