MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade Police are asking for the public's help to identify three suspected burglars caught on surveillance video ransacking a Northwest Miami-Dade residence.

The unsuspecting criminals didn't count on having surveillance cameras set up inside, giving police a good look at at least one of the suspects.

"The first male that actually gained entry into the residence through the rear sliding glass door... when he went into the house, he didn't know there were going to be cameras inside," said Miami-Dade Police Department Detective Romelio Martinez.

The first suspect let his two alleged accomplices -- a man and a woman -- inside but not before warning them they're being recorded.

"Once he realized there were surveillance cameras, he opened the front door for his accomplices. He told them.  You can see actually in the video when they stop at the door and they pull up their hoods. They mask up so that their faces won't be seen," said Detective Martinez.

The suspected burglary happened in late February off NW 190th St.  and 57th Ave.  The trio took jewelry, a laptop and a firearm -- a big concern to police.

"They're out on the street with a firearm.  That presents a big danger not only to the community but to the officers that work that area," said Detective Martinez.

Miami-Dade Police are asking the public to take a close look at the video and hope someone leads them to the suspects.

If you have information on the case, call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
