Miami-Dade police investigating after 3 shot, injured at intersection takeover

Illegal intersection take over took violent turn

MIAMI -- Police were searching for a suspect after three people were hurt early Sunday after being shot during an intersection takeover in Miami-Dade, authorities said.

A man and woman, both 20, and a 19-year-old man were hurt during the incident.

Two of the victims were taken for treatment to Ryder Trauma Center, where they were listed in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon, police said in a written statement.

A third victim was taken by a friend to Hialeah Hospital before he was transferred to Ryder Trauma Center for treatment, according to the statement. Information about his condition was pending.

Police have not identified any of the victims.

According to police, a group of people were at an intersection takeover at the intersection of NW 146nd Street and NW 7th Avenue around 5:45 a.m.  

Police said there was a fight broke out when someone pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the three victims. 

Investigators did not say what the group was fighting about.
