MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Miami Police are looking for the driver of a pick-up truck who crashed into an elderly man and left him for dead.
According to investigators, Onofre Perez was walking eastbound on Flagler Street on May 27th when the driver of a red Chevy S-10 pick-up truck turned right from 67th Avenue, slamming into Perez. The driver did not stop.
The crash was captured on surveillance video which police released Monday.
"He was walking to the doctor," Perez's daughter Miriam Paiz told CBS4's Lauren Pastrana.
Police say Perez suffered multiple injuries including a broken pelvis, fractured ribs, and head trauma.

Ten days later, Perez, 79, he died at the hospital.
"He was a great man," Paiz said. "A great man who always fought for his native Cuba."
Perez came to the U.S. in the 80s to live free from persecution.
His family says he spent almost three decades as a political prisoner in Cuba, and they wonder if his death was more than an accident.
"We want to know if it was politically motivated," Paiz said.
On Tueaday, Miami Police had not said whether that was possibly the case.
No matter the motive, Paiz has a message for the driver.
"Turn yourself in. Why didn't you stop to help him?," she said. "Por favor que se entregue."
