SAN JOSE (CBSMiami) – Peyton Manning was asked directly at Monday's Super Bowl media event about a recent Al-Jazeera report.

The report alleges that Manning received Human Growth Hormone, a banned substance in the NFL, while he recovered from his potentially career ending neck surgery in 2011.

Manning had to answer the question at the media session.

His message was the same as it's always been, that the HGH report is false.

The NFL will look further into the accusations in the offseason.  Fans know how those investigations can go, remembering last year's Deflate Gate scandal and how long that took.

Manning will fully cooperate with the league.

He's never denied going to the Guyer Institute in Indianapolis for treatment for a neck injury but Manning has vehemently denied using HGH.

The report also claims that HGH shipments were made to Manning's wife Ashley.

Regarding those claims, Peyton simple said that's "her business".

It's clear that Manning isn't happy with the ongoing controversy.

There have been rumors that Sunday's Super Bowl may be Manning's final game in the NFL.

If he does retire, any potential wrongdoing found by the league's investigation that could lead to a suspension would be meaningless.
