$250K Bond For Man Arrested On Sex Charges, Found With Gun, Shovel, Duct Tape
DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Bond was set at $250-thousand dollars Friday for a man arrested and charged with engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl he met in a shopping plaza parking lot.
When police arrested Antonio Seisdedos, they said he had a loaded handgun, condoms, a shovel, a machete, a hatchet and duct tape in his vehicle.
"My opinion is we saved that girl's life," said Davie Police Captain Dale Engle.
The complaint affidavit states Antonio Seisdedos, 36, exchanged text messages with the victim numerous times and referenced several sexual activities.
The report goes on to say the victim did have sexual contact with Seisdedos.
He was caught on April 4th after the girl's mother spotted racy text messages and photos on her daughter's cell phone and reported it to the police.
Detectives learned the communication began in February between the victim and included photographs of the teen without clothes and detailed information about oral sex.
When interviewed, the affidavit stated the victim told police she met Seisdedos at the plaza when he approached her and asked for her phone number, which she gave him.
The victim also admitted to the text messages and contact with Seisdedos over the course of a month.
Police were able to continue the conversation acting as the victim via text messages and on at least two occasions reminded Seisdedos the victim was 14-years-old.
During those messages, Seisdedos described sexual contact he wanted to have with the teen, the report said.
Police say the detective, posing as the girl, arranged for Seisdedos to meet her for sex Thursday. Police say he arrived in the parking lot, but instead of finding a teenager, he found the SWAT team.
"We had two employees outside talking. They came inside. They ran inside said 'Everybody run to the back. There's a swat team out there with guns,'" said Gina, a stylist at a nearby hair salon who saw the arrest.
"He was surrounded by the cops and he had blood gushing from his head," she recalled.
Police said they had to break the window of his car to get him out and Seisdedos cut his face on the broken glass.
Detectives say they searched his vehicle to find the weapon, shovel and duct tape along with a machete and a small hatchet.
In court, a prosecutor told the judge, "He possessed in his car everything one would need to kill someone and dispose of the body and that cannot be ignored." Prosecutors wanted bond set at $1-million.
Seisdedos's lawyer offered the following explanation for the items in the car. "He does have a concealed weapons permit also he's a survival enthusiast. He does camping trips. He's also a Marine, he tells me he served in the Marines for eight years."
The judge set bond at $250,000.
According to the jail, Seisdedos posted bond Friday, but before he can leave jail he'll have to be fitted with an ankle monitoring bracelet. He's also required to stay off the computer and to have no contact with anyone under 18.
