Panthers Add Barr, Allen To Round Out Coaching Staff

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – The Florida Panthers continued to make changes to its coaching staff following the franchise's most successful season.
On Tuesday Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced that Scott Allen and Dave Barr have been added to the team's coaching staff.
Allen and Barr join Mike Kelly and Robb Tallas on Florida head coach Gerard Gallant's coaching staff.
In addition, Geordie Kinnear has been named the new head coach of the Panthers AHL affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts.
"We are very pleased to welcome Dave, Scott and Geordie," Tallon said. "They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization as we look to improve upon our record-setting season and continue to build winners in South Florida and Springfield for years to come."
Barr will serve as the Panthers associate coach while Allen will be an assistant coach, along with Mike Kelly.
Tallas will continue to be the team's goaltending coach.
Barr has spent the past seven seasons as an NHL assistant coach with the Buffalo Sabres (2015-16), New Jersey Devils (2011-14), Minnesota Wild (2009-11) and the Colorado Avalanche (2008-09).
He also recorded 332 points while playing 13 seasons in the NHL for seven different teams.
Allen has been in the Panthers organization for the past three years.
In 2015-16 he served as the head coach for the Panthers AHL affiliate in Portland and as an assistant coach for the affiliate the previous three years.
