One Convicted, Two Sentenced In Fla. Tax Frauds

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - It's well known that Miami, and South Florida in general, is a hot bed for income tax fraud and identity theft.

Three more South Florida men have been added to the growing list of scam artists.

Paul Borgella, 35, has been convicted for his role in a $400,000 income tax refund scam. The North Miami Beach man could get up to 10 years in prison at his sentencing in December.

On September 16th, 30-year-old Josue Pierre of Miami was sentenced to more than two years for a tax refund scheme using prepaid debit cards.

North Miami Beach resident Dines Blanc, 24, was given over three years of prison because he used 16 fake tax returns that totaled $300,000.
