Deadly crash led to temporary closure of I-95 at Sheridan Street

Northbound I-95 lanes closed at Sheridan Street due to deadly crash

HOLLYWOOD - The northbound lanes of I-95 between Sheridan Street and Stirling Road have re-opened after they were closed for much of early Monday morning due to a deadly crash. 

The Stirling Road ramp to northbound I-95 was also closed during that time.   

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man was walking in a center northbound land when he was hit. The driver did not stop.

The man's body was then hit by several other vehicles.

The FHP they found the man's vehicle on the inside shoulder of I-95, it had become disabled from a previous crash. 

Chopper4 over the scene spotted a body in the middle of the highway just north of Sheridan Street. 

Drivers were being forced to exit at Sheridan Street. The best alternates for those heading north were US 1 and the Turnpike.
