According to his arrest report, Gonzalez, who works as a manager at the store got into a fight with Silva in the parking lot on Friday morning.
At one point, the report states, during the fight, Gonzalez "walked to his BMW and armed himself with a pistol."
From there, Miami-Dade Police said, he walked over to Silva as she sat in her car, opened the driver side door and shot her multiple times.
The report states he then tried to get into his BMW but was unable to because he lost his keys.
One witness said he smashed the passenger side window of the car and threw the gun inside.
Witnesses also said he was screaming and cursing.
"The guy called the cops himself, so they got here pretty quick," said witness John Brion. "As soon as they got here, he threw himself on the floor and surrendered."
Once in police custody, according to the report, Gonzalez admitted to his involvement in Silva's death.
Gonzalez is being held at The Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
