CORAL GABLES (AP) — Junior Carrington Love scored a career-high 20 points Saturday and Green Bay deployed an effective zone defense in the second half to hand the No. 15-ranked Miami Hurricanes their first defeat, 68-55.

Miami scored only one basket in the first 12 minutes of the second half and finished shooting a season-low 33 percent, including 5 for 20 from 3-point range. The Hurricanes fell to 8-1, while Green Bay improved to 6-2.

Love added nine rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks. Keifer Sykes had 18 points and Greg Mays 10 for the Phoenix.

Green Bay began shooting successfully over Miami's zone early in the second half. Love sank a 3-pointer during a 13-1 run that put the Phoenix ahead 44-31 with 11 minutes left.

The Phoenix built their biggest lead at 48-32 with eight minutes left before Deandre Burnett started a Miami comeback, scoring 10 points during an 11-0 run that made it 48-43. But the Hurricanes could get no closer.

Green Bay beat Miami's full-court press several times in the closing minutes, and the Phoenix made nine consecutive free throws in the final 1:29 to maintain a safe cushion.

Burnett had a season-high 21 points, and Sheldon McClellan added 16 points and eight rebounds for Miami. Angel Rodriguez had 12 points but shot 2 for 15 and had three turnovers.

The Phoenix drove repeatedly for baskets in the early going, taking a 22-11 lead before the Hurricanes switched to a zone. Green Bay then went six minutes without a basket, missing 13 of their final 14 shots in the first half, and Miami closed the deficit to 25-23.

Green Bay then switched to the zone that flummoxed the Hurricanes' guard-oriented offense. They went 2 for 9 on 3-pointers in the second half.
