NMB Approves Plans For Soccer Training Facility

NORTH MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) --  While plans to negotiate a Major League Soccer Stadium have stalled in Miami, North Miami Beach approved the construction of a world-class soccer training facility.

According to our news partner the Miami Herald, the soccer school and sports complex  will be in the south field of Patricia Mishcon Park.

The plans were proposed by the Soccer Development Group (SDG) who are partnered with the Argentine soccer team Boca Juniors. The team flew into South Florida Tuesday night to ask the city council to approve the plans. 

The plans were approved 6-0 Tuesday evening by city council members.

As part of the 20-year lease contract, SDG will responsible for the maintenance and operating costs.

The athletic facility will have locker rooms, training rooms, a soccer field that is being replaced, a concession area and  a pro shop.
