New Traffic Pattern On SR 836 To Start Friday

MIAMI (CBS4) - Believe it or not, more changes and more confusion will be on the Dolphin Expressway starting this weekend.

For 836 drivers, starting on Sunday, if you want to drive westbound on the Dolphin Expressway and exit on NW 72nd Avenue or west Flagler Street, stick to the three right lanes.

Drivers who want to go to get on the Palmetto north or south, beyond West Flagler Street, will need to exit using the left two lanes after passing NW 57th Avenue.

Drivers on NW 72nd Avenue wanting to go west on Dolphin, or north or south on the Palmetto, will need to use the entrance ramps on NW 11th Street.

Westbound drivers on SR 836 exiting at NW 12th Street/NW 87th Avenue will be guided to a new ramp that lines up with NW 84th Avenue at NW 12th Street.

And to make things even worse...there will be closures to prepare for Sunday's openings.

The southbound SR 826 ramp to westbound SR 836 will be closed from 10 p.m. on Friday, February 14th through 7 a.m. Sunday, February 16th.

A new ramp to NW 87th Avenue/NW 12th Street will open on Sunday morning, February 16th. The existing westbound SR 836 ramp to NW 87th Avenue/NW 12th Street will be permanently closed on Friday, February 14 at 10 p.m.

Drivers who will not be exiting at NW 72nd Avenue, to access the new ramp Friday night through Sunday morning, will only be able to exit at 107th Avenue and be subject to a toll.

The westbound SR 836 ramps to SR 826 will be closed on Friday, February 14th between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
