Nespresso To Be First To Bring Cuban Coffee Back To U.S.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Nespresso is bringing back Cuban coffee to the U.S. for the first time in 50 years.

Recent regulation changes allowed the Swiss-based company to re-open the market.  Nespresso says its Cuban coffee will be available in America this fall.

The coffee will first be sold as a limited edition, called Cafecito de Cuba, in stores, online and over the phone, with the eventual goal of making it a regular product.

Nespresso says it is working with a nonprofit to explore how best to work with farmers in Cuba.

Cuban-made coffee, like other goods made in the island nation, have been subjected to a permanent ban since 1962.
