Nearly 2,000 Without Power After Utility Fire

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- Nearly 2,000 customers in the Fort Lauderdale are without power after an underground utility fire.
Florida Power and Light (FPL) shut down power to the area near 1900 NE 33rd Avenue due to the fire.
The fire, which occurred in an underground utility vault, was so strong, it sent a manhole cover flying about 100-feet.
FPL and utility crews were seen at the scene putting out the fire and investigating.
