Near Record Warmth For Saturday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Near record temperatures are possible across South Florida, Saturday. While it will be warm a warm day, Sunday's weather will be cooler.

Temperatures Saturday afternoon are forecast to reach the lower to middle 80s. The high should land between 82 and 85 degrees. The record high temperature at Miami International Airport was 84 degrees set back in 2000. The high for Fort Lauderdale will likely not reach a record. That record was 88 degrees set in 1914.

A few isolated showers are possible Saturday with partly sunny skies and winds out of the southeast between 15 and 20 mph. Gusts will be higher during the afternoon to about 25 mph.

Late Saturday night, a weak cold front will move through South Florida. A few more showers are possible as the front moves down the peninsula.

Overnight temperatures will reach the upper 60s.

Sunday, more sunshine with some clouds mixing-in through the day. Highs Sunday will be near 78 degrees.

Temperatures warm back into the lower 80s by Monday.

A stronger cold front moves into the area Tuesday and will bring temperatures back down to the middle 70s.
