Fatal crush shuts NB lanes of Florida Turnpike near Griffin Road in Broward
BROWARD -- One person was killed following an accident early Saturday in Broward County on the Florida Turnpike that involved a tractor-trailer, authorities said.
The rollover crash prompted the Florida Highway Patrol to close the northbound lanes of the freeway while they investigated the accident and cleared the scene.
The accident snarled the early morning commute for motorists near Griffin Road.
Officials did not say what led to the crash or identify the driver.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area.
