DAYTONA BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) — A South Carolina mother who tried to kill her three children by driving them into the ocean off Daytona Beach will learn Friday if she will be sent back to a psychiatric hospital.
Ebony Wilkerson of Myrtle Beach appeared before a judge Monday.
In 2014, she stood trial for the attempted murder of her three young children. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity on three charges of child neglect and child endangerment.
Wilkerson could have her conditional release revoked after she stopped taking her medication while staying at Lake Wales Care Center. Wilkerson suffered a psychiatric episode in May as a result of being off of her medication.
Prosecutors have filed a motion to have Wilkerson sent back to a psychiatric hospital.
