Man shot and killed after argument with another man in Miramar ends in gunfire, police say
FORT LAUDERDALE -- Police in Miramar were investigating an overnight shooting Friday in which a man was gunned down by another man after the two argued, authorities said.
Investigators have not released many details about the incident, which was reported in the 6100 block of SW 39th Street around 3:45 a.m.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was rushed for treatment to a local hospital, where he later died, according to police.
Police said their initial investigation indicates that the two men were arguing but it was not immediately clear what the dispute was about.
Police said one man was an ex-boyfriend and another man is a current boyfriend to an unidentified woman.
At some point during the argument, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim, according to authorities.
The victim's girlfriend called police but took the victim to a second location before police arrived and transported the wounded man to the hospital, officials said.
Police said the shooter remained on the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
"This is very early on in the investigation," a police spokeswoman said. "We have a lot of work to do."
