Miko Grimes Unleashed Twitter Rant Directed At NFL

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – There is no doubt that Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes is one of the best in the league at his position.

In the two seasons that he's been with the Dolphins Grimes has been elected to the Pro Bowl each year, compiling nine interceptions (two of which were returned for touchdowns), 99 tackles and 30 passes defended while consistently shutting down the oppositions top receivers.

Aside from his immense football-playing skills, Grimes is also known for his outspoken wife, Miko.

Miko, who is host on Miami's WQAM, is also very active on Twitter and doesn't pull any punches when it  comes to speaking her mind, regardless of the topic.

After Brent participated in last weekend's Pro Bowl, a game in which he had a momentum-changing interception and another five defended passes, Miko had some grievances to air as the couple traveled back from Arizona to South Florida.

She grew very upset after the NFL took away Brent's paid appearances during the Pro Bowl after he received permission to be excused from a practice in order to stay with her after she had to have emergency oral surgery.

It seems that was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Miko took to Twitter and went on a huge anti-NFL rant, accusing the league of being anti-women and only taking a real interest in domestic violence after the very public videos of Ray Rice punching his then-fiance Janay Palmer surfaced.

She went on to say that the league doesn't really care about its player's safety, accusing the NFL of putting its players' heath at risk by not properly following concussion protocols and forcing players into a quick turnaround by playing games on Thursday nights.

The focus of the rant then shifted to the league only caring about money, saying that while her husband signed a 4-year deal with $32 million with $16 million guaranteed, he wouldn't receive the non-guaranteed $16 million which would kick in following the 2015 season.

She also mentioned that while the league makes plenty of money off of jersey sales, players don't see any kind of percentage of the money made when fans buy a jersey with that particular players name on it.

She later stated on Twitter that she would never delete any of her tweets and only regrets using profanity during her rant.

Miko points out that she is not, nor ever has been an employee of the NFL and that the league cannot fine or punish her husband for comments that she has made.

It all started when she posted the following on her Instagram account:
