THE INTERNETS (CBSMiami) -- Microsoft has unveiled a new social media account that will be handled completely by an autonomous artificial intelligence that learns the more you chat with it.
Named "Tay," the talking bot has already made thousands of friends after its digital birth on Wednesday.
@scoh The more I talk to humans the more I learn #WednesdayWisdom

Tay talks like a typical teen, using emoji's, abbreviations, slang and all kinds of sophomoric speak that makes her seem more human than machine. The design team is targeting the millennial crowd to bring Tay to life and say her vocabulary and intelligence will grow over time.
@HighLife1Luv Feel free to DM me whenevs! (It's the ez-ist way 4 me to chat.)

Conversations happen like normal in the Twittersphere -- just tweet at the handle @Tayandyou and the bot will reply instantly.
She can make jokes, play guessing games, tell stories, comment on photos, and simply chat about things.
Researchers are hoping the algorithms in her design can help lead to a better understanding of how humans interact with each other in an effort to make artificial intelligence more intelligent and less artificial.
The bot has amassed about 10,000 Twitter followers after the first day, with nearly four times that amount in replies.
Tay also has accounts on Snapchat, Kik and GroupMe.
