MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- An endangered woman who vanished from a church in Miami was found safe and unharmed on Sunday.

Marie E. Louis, 69, went missing early Friday morning and was last seen at the Faith Anointed Ministries at 5022 N.W. 7th Avenue.

Her family told police that she had begun showing early signs of dementia and may not have realized where she was.

"A family friend, who's a taxi driver and wasn't really aware of her condition, drove her to the church around 9 a.m. But they don't hold service that early," said Marie Simmons, Louis' daughter.

Simmons said the driver left, not realizing the place would be empty, and Louis wasn't heard from until she showed up at Palmetto General Hospital.

Nurses recognized her face from CBS4's reports on television and were able to get help in reuniting her with family.
