Miami Turns 119 This Month

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- City leaders and locals are gathering to celebrate Miami's 119th birthday.
The Magic City's annual celebration is taking place at History Miami on 101 West Flagler Street.
Locals are invited for a day full of festivities, history and fun.
Mayor Tomas Regalado, City Manager Daniel J. Alfonso and various city commissioners will also be there to sing happy birthday to the Magic City at 2 p.m.
The City of Miami was incorporated on July 28, 1896. It is one of the few municipalities in the nation established by a woman, Julia Tuttle, who is considered the mother of Miami.
The event ends at 4 p.m.
